The Lady Tigers keep started out strong in set 1, but couldn’t keep up for the entire match. The Tigers lost to Mount Mary College in 3 sets; 16-25, 12-25, 12-25. The Tigers came out in game one with a lot of energy and intensity and were playing point to point with Mount Mary. After getting a string of points Mount Mary was able to take a lead and finish the game. Slow starts in both set 2 and 3 caused the Tigers to not be able to take the lead.
“Starting out slow in both sets 2 and 3 really hurt us and we weren’t able to come back from that. We let Mount Mary get runs of 5-6 points and it was too big of a deficit for us to come back. I was proud of the team for fighting till the end of the match. They did a good job of working hard and coming together after being down by so many points in the beginning of the 2nd and 3rd sets.” –Marcie Masselink, Head Women’s Volleyball Coach
The Tigers were led in attacks by Naomi Kemper and Gabrielle Blickley with 5 kills apiece. Nichole Galbicsek chipped in 4 kills. April led the offense in assists with 12. Naomi Kemper and Nichole led the defense with 16 and 11 digs.
