Naomi Kemper, (Hudsonville HS: Hudsonville, MI) was named the NCCAA Div. II Student Athlete of the Week for her play leading the Tigers to a 3-1 record in the Tigers Invitational. “In her second year playing outside Naomi has shown improvement and more consistency from last year. Her focus and on court hustle is important for team leadership. This was by far her best play as a Tiger and this award is well deserved and speaks highly of all her teammates as well.” Coach Spooner noted!
Naomi hit 24% with 56 total kills (4.1 avg); 68 digs (4.1 avg.) and a 94% serve receive average. She only had 4 errors in 66 attempts. The highlight was defeating NAIA Indiana University Northwest for the first time in school history. Naomi had 20 kills and 23 digs in that historical 5 set victory.
“If we can get that kind of attack % out of Naomi, it puts us in a whole different category of team play. She has shown a more intelligent ball placement with greater confidence. I hope that continues.”
Naomi is the daughter of Ken and Kathy Kemper.
