For the second year in a row Joee Spooner was named to the NCCAA Mid-West All-Regional Team. Considering that four of the top ten teams in the nation are in the Mid-West region this is quite an accomplishment. Joee was second in the region with a 1.01 per set block average. Hitting at 27%, Joee had a 2.47 k.p.s. average. Joee also led the team in serving at 93%. “Considering that Joee wasn’t allowed to hit for two weeks due to injury makes this recognition by the region coaches very special. Like very individual award does, it obviously reflects her teammates investment into the team.” Coach Spooner said.
Joee and Naomi Kemper were both named to the All-Regional Tournament team for their play last weekend. “Joee had 9 kills, Naomi with 8 kills in our loss to Northland. Joee had 3 blocks and served 100%. Naomi has switched in rotation with the injury earlier to Nichole and is finding her confidence. Not only has her hitting location improved but her serve receive and defense was excellent during the tournament. Again these awards are well deserved but reflect on the effort and respect of the entire team.” Coach Spooner said following the ceremony.
