Combined Women’s Small Group on Tuesday 3/16

Our Women’s Small Groups will have the chance to meet together Tuesdsay night from 10-11 pm this week.  Missionaries Aimee Johnson, from Uruguay, and Brook Seekins, from Tanzania, will be sharing with us their experiences as single women in ministry.  From their hearts we will have the opportunity to hear about living for God 100% during a season of ’single woman’ and NOT centering our lives around finding a spouse and THEN living for the Lord.  Ladies, don’t miss this evening!

Local World Vision Exhibit Visited by GBC Students

World Vision currently hosted an interactive exhibit portraying the real life stories of four children living in Africa who are affected by AIDS.  The exhibit was in Zeeland, Michigan and a group of GBC students were able to take part in the stirring and captivating experience over the weekend.  Having just finished our Mission Conference with the theme of Beautiful Feet last week, these students approached the exhibit with a keen awareness to what God is doing in the world and ways He is drawing others to Himself, even in the middle of the AIDS epidemic.

Fireside Chats with Chef John

Our fantastic Chef John Sprague will meet with current students this week in our monthly ‘Fireside Chat.’  Fireside Chats give students the opportunity to communicate how our dining service is doing…things they are enjoying as well as things they would like to see changed.  Chef John is always open to hearing students’ thoughts and ideas so we’re thankful for the specific time we have set aside for those suggestions to be made.

Life Series are weeks led by GBC Resident Assistants and this week’s topic, led by Ben Tacoma, is Creation.  Join us on Tuesday as we view Disney’s ‘Earth’ movie and marvel at the Lord’s amazing handiwork.  Come on out for sledding on Friday and then Saturday we will be taking a trip to Frederik Meijer Gardens.  See Ben with questions or if you would like more information.

Super Bowl Party Second to None

Students, Faculty and Staff gathered at the Tiger Cafe for the biggest football game of the year and it certainly did not disappoint.  Chef John provided great ‘game food’ and Student Government provided games and prizes while we watched the game on the big screen.  Congratulations to all those who won prizes…but especially to Brent Befus for winning the new bike!

6:14 Ends First Week Strong

Every morning at 6:14 am, Lady Tigers have the opportunity to meet in the Aldrich Athletic Center to exercise together…and this first week has been great.  New faces have graced us with their presence and we have worked HARD!  We have enjoyed running stairs, riding the bikes, jump roping, and strength training to name just a few of the things we have done.

This is a great way to start the morning so, ladies, we hope to see you there!
