The Women’s Soccer Players Were Honored at the Fall Sports Banquet

On the evening of December 8 the women’s soccer team joined the other fall Grace athletic teams for a time of recognition and a superb meal served by the Grace staff.  The first intercollegiate varsity women’s soccer team in Grace’s history represented the school in an outstanding manner.  Individuals from the 2010 season were recognized with certificates and four were selected for special honor.  The Most Valuable Player Award went to sophomore, goalkeeper Kerie Rudd.  The Most Improved Award was given to freshman defender Danae Benton.  Midfielder Laura Vinton was chosen to receive the Coach’s Award.  Erin Befus, defender, was selected as the recipient of the Tiger Award.  Befus and Erin Benton were also recognized as captains, elected by their teammates, and commended for their unsurpassed excellence in displayed character and leadership.  Coach comments included an expression of appreciation for each lady’s contribution to the team and gratitude for the opportunity to develop relationships over the course of an extremely enjoyable season.
