Sophomore Kerie played in the goal for the Grace Tiger soccer team.
Battlecreek, Michigan is Kerie’s hometown. Her major is business. Caleb,
her brother is also a student at Grace. An awesome Mom and Dad and two sisters complete the family. Besides soccer, Kerie’s interests include basketball (she also plays for the Grace Women’s Basketball team), cooking and movies. Her plans for the summer include being a nanny for twin 6 year old girls, and an 8 year old boy. After she graduates, Kerie would love to open a restaurant.
Kerie gave these answers to three questions posed to her:
Question #1: What drew you to Grace Bible College and the soccer team?
i came to Grace somewhat to play basketball and because i loved the family atmosphere and the passion that the teachers have for the students. when i found out that we were starting a soccer team, i was really excited because i had played in high school and loved it and couldn’t wait to play again.
Question #2: What was the most meaningful aspect of being part of the women’s soccer team?
i love that we started something here at Grace. every time we put on those uniforms and stepped out on the field, we made history and we had so much fun doing it! even though we never won a game, the friendships that were started and lessons learned will stick with all of us forever!
Question #3: What is your favorite memory/thing from the first season of Grace women’s soccer?
one time, we went on a trip and got to our hotel only to find out that another team had stolen our rooms. we had to go find another hotel, which seemed a little janky to us, and get all new rooms. then when we finally got into our rooms, a team member which shall remain nameless (a freshman of course) jumped on the bed and we took pictures of her mid-air until we got the “perfect one”…which we never really got because she landed and we heard a loud crack from the bed and she stopped jumping.
Kerie did an outstanding job of tending goal for the team. She also is an excellent striker/forward. Thank you Kerie for the significant role you played on the team.
