The Tigers came out today looking to put forth a much improved effort than the game before, and that is what they did. With the score even at 0-0, Tigers forward Chris Thompson looked to have been taken down in the penalty box, but no call was given. MBBC would open the scoring taking the 1-0 lead shortly there after. The Tigers would respond well getting the scores level when Asu Iyakaremye got on the end of Daniel Pierpont’s header and put it away. Shortly after, Thompson was again taken down near the box, but the free kick was placed just outside the box. “Chris was unlucky not to have earned a penalty. The first was across the field, but the second one I saw, and let it be known that Thompson was being held before the kick inside the box and once he tried to run he was taken down, so in this instance I think he was unlucky not to have been given a penalty”, said Coach Buchanan. The score was level going into halftime. MBBC would get a goal twelve minutes into the second half and then another eight minutes after that. “Besides those few moments, I thought we did a pretty decent job tonight. The guys worked hard and this is a positive step forward. I have a lot of respect for Coach Pill and his squad who are always a disciplined and strong opponent”, commented Coach Buchanan. Grace had good play from Ryan Snyder, Asu Iyakaremye as well as the entire back line. The Tigers will now head to Lincoln, Illinois to face Lincoln Christian University for their first road game next weekend.
