The Tigers came out strong Saturday against Midwest Regional opponent and sixth ranked NCCAA side Maranatha Baptist Bible College. They opened up the scoring to take a 1-0 lead when Josh Armstrong found David Simmer at the top of the box. Simmer made a nice turn and took a well placed shot into the bottom left corner. The Tigers held the lead until just before half when MBBC equalized. “I felt pretty good about the first half. We were working hard in the midfield both defensively and on the attack”, said Coach Buchanan. The Tigers did not start the second half nearly as well as the first, conceding a goal within the first minute of play. It would only get worse for the Tigers, ending in a dismal 7-1 loss. “Coach Pill always has his Maranatha side ready to go and they wanted the game more in the second half and it showed. I was disappointed with the second half, but it has shown us the areas we need to work on and continue to improve.”
