Grace took on Moody Bible Institute in a regional match that ended with the score 0-1. After a couple key defensive plays the Tiger’s thought they had taken the lead off a Jonah Stacy shot that hit the crossbar and came down and out creating confusion whether it had went in or not, but it was ruled not to have gone in. The dead lock would continue to the second half. It was Moody who scored when Grace cleared the ball which hit a Moody player and went into the goal which proved to be the difference maker. Grace nearly equalized when freshman Brady Zomer put a quality header towards goal requiring an equally impressive save from the Moody keeper. “We played well and worked hard today. It was very exciting and close contest. We needed a couple solid individual defensive efforts and we gave ourselves a chance. Whether it was a goal or not I am not sure because it has hard to see, but a tremendous effort none the less. I’m proud with the passion and effort the guys played with tonight. They really enjoyed this game, even though we were disappointed not to have leveled the score there are a lot of positives to take from today,” said Coach Buchanan. Grace will take on Kuyper College Tuesday at 4:00 at home on Velting Field.
