Grace traveled to Lansing, Michigan to take on Great Lakes Christian College today, where they earned a victory by the score of 1-0. The total team effort helped freshman keeper Drew Smith earn his second career clean sheet. The Tiger’s were without captain Chris Thompson, and when Jonah Stacy went down after being fouled the Tiger’s needed a boost. The team was given one from the return of Josh Armstrong. Armstrong’s presence was immediately felt as he entered into the game and would score the game winner. “Already missing Thompson, and then Jonah went down with injury it was a massive lift for us to have Josh’s fitness level up to be back into the team and it showed. We had to battle a lot of different things tonight and I thought Nate Colby stepped up and gave us some solid play as well as Austin Olson. We started seven freshman tonight and at this point in the season they have gained experience. This was a good win for us against a good team,” commented Coach Buchanan. Grace and Great Lakes will square off again this Friday which will be the last home game of the year for the Tigers. Game time is 2:00 pm.
