Today marked the first year that Grace had a complete women’s team to race, finish and score in the Calvin Invitational! There are many exciting stories wrapped up in the race. First, congratulations to Josie Lange and Dicia Wahl for qualifying for NCCAA Div 2 nationals by beating the qualifying time of 24:30. Josie finished with a time of 21:39 and Dicia with a time of 24:19. This was especially impressive for Josie as this was her first ever 5k running race. Josie has a history of being a cross-country skier and swimmer. She has now established herself as a cross-country runner as well. Also running and finishing today were Ally Rackley with a time of 26:49, Elizabeth Pedersen with a time of 28:52 and Jessica Turnbough with a time of 34:01. Thanks to Jessica for running and finishing, even though she is fighting a cold. Also representing the Grace Tigers today for the men was Trenton Loomis with his first 8k race and finishing with a time of 35:01. He is just one minute and one second off the qualifying time for nationals, so we are looking forward to his next races, cheering him on in an attempt to qualify as well.
