Tigers Sign Ashley Witherspoon and Trisha Davies

Coach Rich Renzema is pleased to announce the signing of two new players for the 2011-12 basketball season.  Both players are graduates of Creative Technologies Academy in Cedar Springs, MI. 

Ashley Witherspoon of Coral, MI will help the Tigers from the forward spot next season.  Voted the team MVP at CTA last season, she also served as the Captain of the team. 

“I am excited to continue my basketball career at Grace and begin my education toward my career goals.”  Ashley will major in Business Administration.

“Ashley was an aggressive player and was our leading scorer for the year.  She was also voted MVP by her teammates and coaches.” – HS Coach Robin Greene.

Ashley is the daughter of Todd and Amy Witherspoon.  She has one brother, Bailey.

 Trisha Davies will also suit up for the Lady Tigers next season.  Trisha is the daughter of Michael and LeAnn Davies.  She has one brother, Tyler, and a sister Danielle. 

Trisha holds the CTA school record for steals in a game with 13.  She averaged 7 steals a game for the Chargers last season.  “I am very excited to go to Grace Bible College and start a new chapter in my life.  Not only will Grace help further my education but it will also continue to develop my character.”

“Trisha was a leader offensively on the court for us, she did a great job bringing the ball up the floor. 
Both girls have developed into outstanding basketball players at CTA because of their hardwork and dedication to the game.   I’m excited to see the girls continue their basketball career at Grace Bible College and both will be an asset to the team.”

Trisha was the Valedictorian of her 2011 graduating class and plans to major in secondary education and someday teach high school history.
