Rich Renzema, Head Coach of the Grace Lady Tigers released the 2009-2010 schedule today and travel plans are in the works. “We are excited about the upcoming season” said Renzema. “ A lot of exciting things are happening at Grace. Not only do we have a great away schedule this year with lots of travel opportunities but our home games will be played on our new wood floor that was just completed. We will play in nine states this year during the season.
The Tigers will open the season on the road as they travel to Circleville, OH for the Ohio Christian University Tournament with Ohio Christian and Clark State. The next weekend the players travel to Grayson Kentucky for the Super Eight Classic at Kentucky Christian University with Southeastern University (FL), Northland International University, and Kentucky Christian University, the reigning 2009 National Champions.
After an away game against Andrews University in Berrian Springs, MI, the Tigers will travel to Watertown, WI for the Midwest Tip-off Tournament where they will face Moody Bible and Maranatha. The month of December will kick off with two more road games, one in Detroit against Marygrove College and the other in Manitowoc, WI against Silver Lake College. The first home games of the year will played at Grace in the GBC Christmas Tournament with Kuyper College of Grand Rapids, MI, Ohio Christian College and Southwestern Christian (OK). The Tigers will travel to Rochester, MI to take on Rochester College to finish the month of December.
The months of January and February provide a good mix of home and away contests with GBC traveling to Gary, IN to take on Indiana University Northwest, Dubuque, IA for a meeting with Emmaus Bible College, Lincoln, IL for Lincoln Christian College and going across town to visit cross town rival, Kuyper College.
The Tigers will hop a plane on January 28th to head to Arizona for two games with Southwestern College.
The remaining home games will include ten games with Midwest Regional teams Lincoln Christian University, Northland International University, Kuper College, and Moody Bible. Non-NCCAA teams will include Mount Mary College, Silver Lkake College, Andrews University, Marygrove College, Rochester College, and Indiana University Northwest.
The Midwest Regional hosted by Grace will begin February 25-27.
Grace will travel to Oklahoma City, OK for the ACCA National Championships the week of March 4-6.
The NCCAA II National Championship will be played the week of March 9-13
