Cold shooting and poor passing cost the lady Tigers a chance for the win in the opener against Andrews University. The Tigers shot 35% from the floor and had 22 turnovers. We played well in spots but did not have any consistency tonight.” With 9 first year players on the roster out of eleven some inconsistency was to be expected” said Coach Renzema. One bright spot for the Tigers was the shooting of Abby Schultz (Holland Calvary) hitting 4 of 7 3 pointers. Abby lead the Tigers in scoring with 16 points. Kim Kamp (Tri-Unity) had 10 points and 7 rebounds. Others scoring were Sydney Wildeboer (Kent City) with 6, Sarah Steenwyk (Zion Christian) 4, Meagan Beckwith (GR Central) 3, Brittany Summerfield (Forest Hills Northland) 2 and Kerie Rudd (Battle Creek Pennfield) 2.
The Tigers travel to the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, this weekend to play Valley Forge Christian CollegeĀ and Southeastern University, out of Florida. Both teams are strong this year and will be a challange for the young Tigers.
