There is an old saying that says “numbers don’t lie”. After looking at the stat sheet for the Lady Tiger loss to Moody, one might question that statement. The Lady Tigers took 15 more shots, had six fewer turnovers, and outrebounded the taller Archers, yet still found themselves on the short end of the scoreboard, 62-54.
“We did a lot of really good things in this game again,” Coach Renzema commented after the game. “Unfortunately, the winner is not decided on anything but who has the most points at the end of the game. We controlled the statistical battle on everything but making the most shots and Moody did a better job of that tonight.”
The Lady Tigers, who ended up with a 30% field goal percentage, were led by Kerie Rudd (Battle Creek Pennfield) with 13 points, Amy Leszinske (Ravenna) and Sydney WIldeboer (Kent City) each had 11, and Kim Kamp (Tri-Unity Christian) added nine. Leszinske and Kamp, the starting guards, led the rebounders with 11 and 10 respectively. Amy also led the team with six assists.
