made many new friends!
Saturday was a great day full of basketball and relaxation. After a few of us hitup the fitness room, we all headed down to the wonderful breakfast once again. Some people took a dip in the beautiful pool after that to wake up. Then we were off to our game. It was a very competitive and well played game. Once again, we appreciated all of the people that drove out to watch us and made us feel more at home with so many fans. As you know we didn’t quite pull a win out, but to life our spirits as we were leaving the school we got to visit with the Rahoy’s and the President of Southwestern helped us pick our own tangerines and grapefruits off of the trees on their campus. We then got to go to the famous west coast burger place, “In and Out.” We had a quick lunch and headed back to the hotel for another swim. During that time we decided that Grace should start up a synchronized swimming team, and we would be the first to join! We had a lot of fun just sitting in the sun and taking pictures of the beautiful scenery. After there was no more sun to be soaked up, we split off into a couple different activities. Some of us went for a walk to try and get a better view of the mountains and the sun setting over them. Jodi and Mrs. Coach got to go down to the historical Scottsdale in down town Phoenix and see all the shops and monuments. They even got to see a shop that was painted to change color with the amount of sunshine and time of day. Still some others went to the store to gather their Arizona souvenirs. After all of that we got to celebrate Heidi’s birthday once again with some cake that hadn’t fit into our schedule the day before. We decided that she had the longest birthday of anyone with the time change and us celebrating it for two days! We ended the night with some pizza, courtesy of us all making our free throws in practice, and a movie. It was a bittersweet night, knowing that it was our last here, but excited and thankful to have been able to have the experience.
