Today was Heidi’s 21st birthday!!! We all woke up to beautiful sunshine and warm weather! The first thing that we did was go down to breakfast. At breakfast, they had a cook that made omlets to order and french toast. They also had cereal, fruit, sausage, bacon, toast, and anything else you could want. We ate our hearts out! After breakfast, we met and left for the Phoenix zoo. Chef John and his wife and the Miller family also went with us. Chef John had rented a 2010 Ford Mustang, and let Maryanne and I ride with him to the zoo. We put the top down and away we went. Everyone around us thought that we were ridiculous, because it’s “winter” here and we had the top down to the mustang. It didn’t matter, because we were having a great time. We all got to the zoo…after getting lost and had about 2 hours to explore. Stephanie, Jessica, and I grouped up and started out. We saw the giraffes, monkeys, lions, tiger, rhinos, elephants, and orangutan. Some funny parts of the zoo was when we were at the tiger and Jess tried a mating call, and the tiger growled right back at her. We also really liked the orangutan. There was a baby, mom, dad, and grandma all together. The baby was swinging back and forth and kept reaching for its dad. The dad would put its fingers out to grab him. It was so cute! After the zoo, we all went out to lunch for Heidi’s birthday. Chili’s we decided was not the best choice before a game, but we had a great time…..”power hour anyone??” After lunch we all got ready and headed to our game. It was great to have some fans from the church out here!! We appreciate them a lot. After the game we were able to go to Adam and Jessica Peterson’s house for dinner. After driving to the booneys and passing about 25 cops, we made it to their cute home. Jessica gave us the tour, while Petey grilled us burgers, chicken, and hot dogs. The food was delicious. We had a great time of fellowship with the Petersons, and I know I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time! Today was full of adventure and great memories! Tomorrow we play at 1pm Arizona time and then are planning on shopping, homework, and just chillin by the pool soaking in the sunshine!!
