It really isn’t all that unusual to see or hear about twins or triplets being born.  However, five of the 15 girls on the 2012-13 GBC basketball team are either a twin or a triplet.  Returning players Marissa Pelletier and Ashton Willis both have identical twin sisters, Katie and Erin respectively.  Newcomer, Meagan Beckwith (Mariah) also has an identical twin sister.  Incoming freshman Abby Schultz, has a fraternal twin brother Paul, while freshman Sarah Steenwyk is one third of a set of triplets along with her brothers, Seth and Scott. 

All of the multiple siblings of the GBC players are also pursuing their college education, however Ashton’s sister is the only one that also attends Grace Bible College.

“Believe it or not, we do not have being a twin as a part of our recruiting criteria,” Coach Ash explained with a grin.  “It is probably a good thing we don’t have any of the identical twins together on the team because Coach Renzema and I would always get them mixed up.  I’m sure it will make for some interesting moments and double-looks meeting with the families after games this season.”
