Head Coach Rich Renzema is pleased to announce the signing of 5-11 forward Kathryn (Kitty) Yanik from Port Huron New Life Christian Academy. Kitty was a 4-year starter for New Life and was All Conference 3 times. She stuffed the stat sheet by averaging 20.3 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.2 steals, 2.1 assists, and 6.7 blocks per game for NLCA where she was named Athlete of the Year.
Kitty also excelled on the soccer field and volleyball court and was an honor roll student all 4 years in high school.
Kitty is the daughter of Pat and Liz Yanik. She has one older brother, David.
“Kitty is going to be a nice addition to the program”, Coach Renzema commented. “She has good size and can also step out and shoot the 3 point shot. Initially, she is going to give us some good depth in the front court and I can see her developing into a good inside-outside threat down the road.”
