The women’s basketball staff announced their basketball awards for the 2010-11 season.
Ashton Willis was presented the Tiger Award this year for all the extra things she did all season. “She was the kind of teammate that everyone enjoys having around,” said her teammates. “She always works hard and never makes any excuses.”
Liz Nelson was given the Most Improved Player Award. “Liz won the starting point guard position early in the season and would not give it up. She works daily on her ball handling skills and is very coachable,” said Coach Renzema. Liz averaged 9 points a game and 2.8 assists. Liz also averaged 3.1 steals per game.
Jessica Sikorski won the Most Valuable Player Award for the third straight year. Jessica averaged 21.6 points per game and 12.7 rebounds. She was named a 1st team All-American in the NCCAA and the ACCA. Jessica has scored 1,889 points in her first 3 seasons as a Tiger which places her 3rd on the all time list.
