The Lady Tigers played with great effort on Tuesday night, but couldn’t find the shooting touch against Marygrove and lost the game 78-45. The Tigers shot 37% from the field, which wasn’t enough to keep up with the athletic and deep Mustangs. Jessica Sikorski led the Tigers with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Marissa Pelletier continued her solid freshman campaign with 15 points. Kerie Rudd and Naomi Walker added four each and Stephanie Miller and Cassie Hidalgo each chipped in with two. Kerie led the team with four assists.
“I thought our half-court defense was solid, but they had too many fast breaks because of long rebounds off our missed shots,” Coach Renzema commented after the game. “It is a lot easier to play defense when the other team has to pull the ball out of the net.”
The Tigers were outrebounded by a 48-34 count which also led to a lot of second chance opportunities for the Mustangs.
The Lady Tigers are off until the NCCAA Midwest Tipoff at Dunbar, Wisconsin on December 2-3 where they will take on Moody and Emmaus.
