Rich Renzema has been coaching basketball in West Michigan for the past 36 years. He has quietly amassed a win total that very few coaches even dream of. This past season Coach Renzema won his 536th game in Joplin, MO at the ACCA National Tournament. On September 30th, the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM), will recognize Coach Renzema at their annual banquet.
“When I started coaching, I did it because I loved sports and loved being around the kids. That hasn’t changed,” said Renzema. “It has been a rewarding experience over the last 36 years to see players grow up and to actually coach some of their children. I hope I have impacted their lives in a posititive way because I know they have mine.”
Renzema has coached at Caledonia HS, Wyoming Park HS, Coopersville HS, and is in his 9th year at Grace Bible College.
