Rich RenzemaHead CoachCoach Renzema begins his 44th year of coaching basketball in the Grand Rapids area, and his 10th at Grace Bible College. He was the Michigan Class B coach of the in 2001 when he lead the Coopersville Men’s team to a 26 and 2 record and a state finals appearence. He was also the ACCA National Coach of the year in 2006 and the NCCAA National coach of the year in 2008 while leading the team to a school record 28 wins. He started his career at Caledonia High School and then to Wyoming Park High School prior to moving to Coopersville High School. Basketball is not the only sport he has coached in high School. Some of the other sports he has coached are Cross-Country, Golf and Track. At Coopersville he lead the Women’s track team to the 2003 Team state championship which topped off seven years of going undefeated. He has been married for 45 years to his wife Kathie, who travels with the team and serves as the teams activity director. They have four children and five grandchildren with number six on the way. Lee AshAssistant CoachLee Ash is in his second year as Assistant Coach for the women’s program at GBC. His main roll is recruiting and what a year he has had, bring in 12 new recruits to the women’s basketball program. He had coached at Algoma Christian for the past nine years, including two years coaching the varsity girls and seven coaching the varsity boys. Lee graduated from Shelby High School and went on to study Engineering at the University of Michigan and Business at Cornerstone University. He is employed as the Laboratory Manager at Leon Plastics in Grand Rapids. Lee is married to Carolyn Ash,(19 years), and has three sons; Austin, Brandon and Cameron. Lee and has family reside in Belmont. |
