The Tigers played a rematch of last year’s NCCAA final and never trailed and came away with an 88-72 win over #5 ranked Valley Forge Christian College. All seventeen players entered the game for the Tigers and 13 players found the scoring column. “It was a nice win for our squad” said Coach Bailey. It was nice that some of our guys that hadn’t seen the floor much this year were able to come in and contribute. Valley Forge really brings the pressure and we only committed 13 turnovers. After two really tough losses against NAIA ranked teams, I wondered how we would come out and play tonight.”
The Tigers held a 41 – 21 advantage in rebounds and 7 – 6 advantage in steals. Valley Forge shot 50% from the floor to Grace’s 50.7%. The Tigers were 8 – 15 from the arc compared to 4 – 14 for VFC.
Allen Durham led GBC with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Cory Jamieson hit for 15, Ryan Krombeen 11, and Brandon Herlein 10. Kyle Rothley had 6 rebounds in only 9 minutes of work before leaving the game with a sore knee. Dan Dame led Grace with 5 assists.
Grace will take on Wesley College (MS) at 4:00pm on Friday.
