The 2010 Calvin College Tip-Off Tournament Champions

The Tigers followed up their win over Calvin College Friday night with an impressive victory over Heidelberg University 76-66.  The Tigers won the tournament for the first time.  Allen Durham led all scorers with 26 points and 14 rebounds.  John Oostema scored 14 and Cory Jamieson also hit double figures with 12.  Dan Dame scored 7 and pulled down 10 rebounds. 

The Tigers outrebounded HU by a 56-36 margin.  Grace again shot below their season average of 55% by shooting 43% in both halves.  Grace also shot a season low 56% from the line going 14-25.  Ryan Dame led Grace with 7 assists and Ryan Krombeen added 6.

“I was really happy with our bench play this weekend.  Our bench outscored both opponents benches and they really picked it up on defense.  Carl Getty played an outstanding game tonight.  He did all the things that don’t show up on the stat sheet,” said Coach Bailey.

Matt Kurtz and Allen Durham were both selected to the All Tournament Team.  Durham was also selected as the Tournament MVP.
