The Tigers showed that they are preparing for post season play by upending Northland International University 82-56 in Grand Rapids. Seventeen players entered the game again for Grace as they once again showed their depth. A 58-27 rebound advantage propelled the Tigers to the victory. Allen Durham connected on 12 of 13 shots to lead Grace with 31 points and 12 rebounds. Cory Jamieson added 10 for the Tigers. The Tigers shot 52% for the game compared to 29% for NIU. The Tigers held NIU to their lowest point production of the season at 56 points.
“I wasn’t overly impressed with our play tonight but I am happy with the win. Northland always plays us well but we didn’t do the things we had worked on this last week. I don’t know if Northland forced us out of or into some things but we just didn’t play like we are capable,” said Coach Gary Bailey. “Their starters logged a lot of minutes and I think our fresh legs helped us move the ball up the floor.”
The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday at home against Kuyper College.
