Cory Jamieson

The Tigers shot an impressive 63.3% from the floor tonight to win their final game of the regular season 91 – 55 against Moody.  Fourteen Tigers found the scoring column as Grace put five players in double figures.  Cory Jamieson connected on 5 for 5 shooting from behind the arc to finish with 17 points and 5 assists.  Allen Durham scored 15, Brandon Herlein 12, Ryan Dame 10, and Paul Nelson 10.

The Tigers celebrated “Senior Night” by putting all four seniors in the starting line-up.  Jerry McClearen, Paul Nelson, Brandon Herlein, and Kyle Rothley were presented with their original away jerseys in a frame by the coaching staff before the tip-off.  This is a tradition at Grace for their seniors.

“Moody really tried to slow the game down tonight”, said Coach Gary Bailey.  I think we heard their bench counting down the shot clock everytime we were on defense.  They rarely shot unless the shot clock was under ten seconds.  We knew that they would do this so we tried to limit them to one shot and to get out and run to put them behind early so they would have to get out of their game plan.”  Moody shot 45% for the game.  The Tigers doubled the Archers on the boards by pulling down 32 boards to 16 for Moody.

The Tigers clinched a #1 seed at the NCCAA Midwest Regional which begins on Thursday, February 25th in Watertown , WI.

Grace has now won 32 consecutve NCCAA II games nationally and 34 straight NCCAA II Midwest Regional games
