The Tigers won their 8th game in a row with an 85-78 win over Silver Lake College (USCAA) from Manotowac, WI. “We just couldn’t shake them,” said Coach Gary Bailey. “We would get up by 12 or 14 points and they would make some great shots combined with a couple of our turnovers and they were back to within 6. It didn’t help that we shot 19-34 from the free throw line tonight. Count in a couple of front ends of the one and one and we missed close to 20 free throws tonight.” The Tigers also were out-rebounded for only the 4th time this year 41-33. The Tigers were 4-9 from the arc compared to 8 for 24 for the Lakers.
Allen Durham led all scorers with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Four other Tigers hit double figures with Dan Dame knocking down 14, Cory Jamieson and Ryan Dame with 10. Zach Schutte continues to bounce back from a broken foot in the first semester scoring 12. “We are really pleased that Zach is finding his form after sitting out the entire first semester with the broken foot. He will add a great deal to our rotation the rest of the way,” said Bailey. John Oostema passed out a team high 4 assists.
Grace now stands at 22-7 on the season.
The Tigers will face the University of Michigan – Flint next Saturday at the Aldrich Center on the campus of Grace Bible College at 5:00pm.
