In a very slow paced game, the Tigers outlasted Andrews University 59-54. The game was close throughout as both teams were content to use the clock. Grace was led by Ryan Krombeen’s 16 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Allen Durham, who was honored before the game for being selected as the NCCAA II National Player of the Week, scored 12 and pulled down a game high 10 rebounds. Brandon Clahassey hit for 11 and Matt Kurtz added 10. Kurtz also hit two late free throws to put the game away for good. Cory Jamieson and Krombeen both had 5 assists to lead Grace. The Tigers shot only 42.9% from their season average of over 52%. Their free throw shooting was much improved going 13 of 18 for 72.2%. The Tigers outrebounded the Cardinals 44-28. GBC shot a terrible 2-24 from three. “In my five years with Grace I have never seen us shoot this bad from the arc”, said Coach Gary Bailey. “Eight percent may be the lowest I have heard of a Grace team shooting. It was bad. We will be shooting a bunch this week to prepare for friday’s game against Day Spring College.”
