Nick Mascorro signed today with Grace for the upcoming 2012-13 season. Mascorro is transferring from Spring Arbor University and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Mascorro, a 5’11 guard, graduated from Tri-Unity Christian averaging 14 ppg and 4 apg. He was selected to the All Area Team, All Conference Team, Grand Rapids Press Dream Team, West Michigan All Stars Team, Class D All State Team & Bank Hoops All State Team.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Spring Arbor University and it was a great experience. I am looking forward to my next two years at Grace. I really feel it is the right fit for me to finish out my career. I tore my rotator cuff in mid season last year and missed about 12 games. I have already met my new teammates and they seem like great guys. The coaching staff at Grace is excellant.” – Nick Mascorro
Mascorro is a solid guard that can play the 1 or 2. He is lightning quick, can get to the basket, and can shoot the three. He started 8 games for SAU before being injured. He is a 48% 3-point shooter.
“We are really pleased to have Nick as a Tiger,” said Coach Gary Bailey. “Coach Cottingham at Spring Arbor is one of the best coaches I know and Nick will come in with a great deal of coaching and experience. We welcome Nick and his parents, Rudy & Nancy, and his sisters Jennifer & Katrina to the Grace family.”
