The Tigers seemed a little defensive when they arrived in Dubuque, Iowa for their game against Emmaus. The Tigers set a school record for fewest points allowed by an opponent by giving up just 29 points in an 86-29 win. “We had another total team effort tonight” said Coach Bailey. “Our first seven or eight players did not play in the second half and the guys that came in actually gave up less points in the second half. We really wanted a good defensive start and we jumped out to a 27-2 lead and I couldn’t believe it. Then the guys really focused on not allowing easy buckets.”
The Tigers gave up just 12 baskets to the Eagles, also the fewest in school history. Grace went into the locker room with a 47-15 lead. The Tigers shot 55% for the game compared to 28% for Emmaus. The Tigers also held game advantages in assists 28 to 7, rebounds 35 to 21, and steals 21 to 6. Sixteen out of 17 players scored for Grace.
The Tigers will play at home on Monday against Andrews University at 8:00pm
