The Tigers reached the Midwest Regional Finals for the seventh consecutive year downing Maranatha Baptist Bible College 77-61 in Dunbar, Wisconsin Friday night. “The guys were pretty close to perfect in executing the game plan tonight,” said Coach Gary Bailey. “We are back to playing Grace basketball.”
The Tigers again mixed a balanced and patient scoring attack with excellent rebounding and good defense. Grace shot a blistering 69.6% from the field (32/46) including 71.4% from the 3 point arc. GBC held a 24-11 rebounding advantage holding MBBC to only 2 offensive rebounds.
The Tigers were led by Zach Schutte’s 23 points and Cory Jamieson’s 19. Ryan Krombeen also scored in double figures with 13. Matt Kurtz led Grace in rebounding with 6.
The Tigers will take on Kuyper College for the NCCAA midwest Regional crown tomorrow (Saturday) at 3:00pm CST.
