Tigers Open Season With Win

Grace never trailed in their opener to U of M Dearborn. The Tigers won the game 79-67. Coach Gary Bailey was pleased with the play of his team. “We are a pretty young team but played with a lot of maturity today”, said Bailey. “We talk about being disciplined and unselfish but I didn’t expect it this early in the season. We still have a lot to learn but these guys are eager to get better every day.”

Allen Durham led GBC with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Three other Tigers scored in double figures with Brandon Clahassey hitting for 13, Kyle Rothley 11, and Brandon Herlein 10. Clahassey led Grace with 5 assists. Ryan Krombeen added 9 rebounds to go along with 8 points. Paul Nelson added 9 points.

The Tigers shot 50% for the game. GBC had the edge in rebounds 38-32 and assists 21-10.

Grace travels to take on Spring Arbor University next Saturday at 3:00pm.
