The Tigers bounced back from their disappointing loss to Indiana Wesleyan University (NAIA #2) with a victory over Madonna University (NAIA). Senior Ryan Krombeen led the balanced Tiger attack with 20 points. Cory Jamieson and Ryan Dame each scored 11 points and Randy Jefferson had 10. Krombeen also pulled down 10 rebounds for Grace.
The Tigers fell behind early but kept the game close throughout the first half. The Tigers were behind by three with ten seconds to go before intermission when freshman Jake Blauwkamp hit a long three to knot up the score. A desperation shot by a Madonna player found the center of the basket to give the MU the lead heading to the locker room.
The game would see-saw back and forth in the second half until Madonna took the lead with 15 seconds to play. The Tigers pushed the ball down the sideline and Cory Jamieson found an opening for the shot. The shot came off the rim and Ryan Krombeen was there for the put back with one second to go.
Grace shot 44.3% for the game compared to 40% for the Crusaders. Grace held a 47-33 advantage in rebounds.
The Tigers now stand at 1-2 and will play their first game in the NCCAA next Monday in the Aldrich Center. The Tigers have won 59 straight games in the NCCAA.
Cory Jamieson was selected to the All Tournament Team.
