Tigers Get Back To Winning

Ryan Krombeen - 20 points & 8 rebounds

It wasn’t pretty, but the Tigers played well enough to earn their 15th win of the season.  The Tigers defeated Northland International University 73-66.  For the third straight game the Tigers shot below 40% from the floor.  “I am anxious to watch the game film and see exactly how many lay-ups and put backs we missed tonight,” said Coach Gary Bailey.  “We shot 39% tonight but we missed mostly shots around the basket.  Northland played us very well and it exposed some of our current weaknesses but I am optimistic that we have turned a corner.”

The “corner” Coach Bailey is talking about is the lack of effort during these last few games.  The Tigers had lost five straight before tonight and had not demonstrated the dominant performances that they had earlier in the season.  Ryan Krombeen led Grace with 20 points and 8 boards.  Allen Durham had 15 points 12 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Ryan Dame added 11 points.  Ten players found the scoring column for Grace.  The Tigers outrebounded NIU by a 49-28 margin.

Seth Quirey led NIU with 26 points.

The Tigers will take on Great Lakes Christian College on Saturday at 1:00pm.
