Tigers Fall To Aquinas

Tiger Captains and Coach Karnemaat present a check for $2,500 to Brian DeVos, Director of Operations at Bethany Christian Services before the game. The Tigers raised the money for the contribution from their Holiday Tournament earlier in the season.

Grand Rapids, MI – The Tigers came in to tonight’s game with a chance to make history.  The Tigers are 0-10 all time against the Saints.  The Tigers now stand at 0-11 all time against Aquinas falling to the NAIA Saints 77-55.  The Saints jumped out to an early 14 point lead and the game stayed right there for most of the remaining 30 minutes.  “We came into tonight’s game knowing we had to shut down Semple and Pfahler,” said Gary Bailey.  “They each had 8 points so I was OK with that.  They hurt us inside tonight.”

The Tigers were led by Greg Salmon and BJ VanLoo’s 12 points each.  Cameron Cramer added 11 for the Tigers.  Cramer also led Grace with 4 assists.  Greg Salmon had 9 rebounds.

The Saints out-rebounded the Tigers 30-27.  Aquinas also held an advantage in assists at 14-13.

WBBL carried the game for the Tigers and the game is still available to download and listen to.  You can go to www.wbbl.com to listen to the game.  Greg Salmon was chosen as the WBBL Player of the game.

Grace will be in action again this Saturday when the host Mount Vernon Nazarene (NAIA II) at 6:00pm.
