The Tigers dropped a 85-63 game to Dordt College (NAIA II) in Sioux Center, Iowa. The Tigers will play Northwest College on Thursday at 2:00pm CST.
“I like scheduling games like this because it gives us some experience in traveling a long distance and playing very good competition. I feel like it gets us some experience for the regional and national tournments,” said Coach Gary Bailey. “I know we learned alot about where we are as a team and what we need to improve on. We are not a very good team right now.”
The Tigers led early after being down 3-2 and held the lead until Dordt took a one point lead at 4:31 left in the half. The Defenders went on to outscore the Tigers 14-6 to the half. The Defenders picked up right where they left off in the second half by gradually pulling away. Dordt shot an impressive 53% in each half compared to Grace’s 36.6%. Grace has not shot under 40% all season. The Tigers held the rebound advantage 43-37.
Allen Durham led Grace with 24 points and 16 rebounds. He was the only Tiger to score in double figures. Ryan Dame led Grace with 4 assists.
The Tigers now stand at 14-5 on the season.
