What a difference a month makes! On January 11th the Tigers suffered their most recent loss. That loss was to Indiana University Northwest (NAIA II). Tonight, a healthy group of Tigers avenged that loss with a 93-72 win. “We have been playing really well,” said Coach Gary Bailey, “but tonight we were scary good at times. I don’t think I have seen that many dunks in a game that I have coached. The guys are playing really well right now and it goes all the way from players 1 thru 15. We played a very good and well coached team tonight that plays a killer schedule. It was a great win for us.” The Red Hawks have already played the University of Toledo, Valparaiso, IUPUI, University of Indianapolis, Robert Morris and a mostly NAIA and D-II & D-III schedule.
Appropriately, Allen Durham, 20 points and Dan Dame, 18 points, led Grace on Senior Night. Durham also led the TIgers with 17 rebounds. Ryan Dame chipped in 12 points and John Oostema 11. Seven other Tigers scored in the contest. Cory Jamieson had 4 assists for GBC.
The Tigers shot 50% for the game compared to 33% for IUNW. The Tigers held a 65-34 rebound edge for the game.
