The Tigers overcame a sluggish first half to beat NAIA I, University of St. Francis 80-66 at the Davenport University Invitational Tournament. Grace was led by Allen Durham’s game high 25 points. Ryan Krombeen hit for 14, Zach Schutte 12, and Cory Jamieson 10 to lead GBC. Ryan Krombeen also handed out 4 assists. The Tigers were led by Dan Dames 9 rebounds.
Down 40-35 at the half, Grace looked like they shook off the rust and played much better the second twenty minutes. Shooting 17-29 from the floor and 9 of 10 from the line helped the Tigers to extend the lead to as many as 16. Grace held a 39-25 rebound advantage.
Grace will play Davenport University at 3:00pm on Saturday. Davenport advanced to the championship game by beating Kuyper College 111-33. Davenport is currently ranked at #20 in the National NAIA II polls.
