Each year the National Christian College Athletic Association awards its most prestigious honor to one of its seniors — the Pete Maravich Memorial Award. The recipient “must possess a vital Christian testimony on and off the court and exhibit outstanding leadership qualities” according to the NCCAA. This year the Maravich Award was presented to Tiger senior and captain Cory Jamieson at a ceremony in Springfield, Missouri this afternoon. Cory becomes only the second player in Grace history to win the award following last year’s winner, Allen Durham.
“Cory’s testimony and leadership over four years with this team is without question,” said Head Coach Gary Bailey. “He is very deserving of this award.” Cory was also named 2nd Team All-American for the second straight year.
Also honored for their achievement in the classroom were Tiger juniors Greg Salmon and Zach Schutte, along with Jamieson as NCCAA Scholar Athletes (Academic All-Americans).
