Greg Salmon of Wayland has decided to continue his basketball career and play for the Tigers next season. Salmon, a 6’2″ guard out of Wayland finished his senior year averaging 10 ppg and 7 rpg. He also was awarded the Wayland Athlete of the Month for March, was voted to the All Conference and All County Teams and is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Greg does just as well in the classroom where he has a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. He will be a Youth Ministry major.
Coach Gary Bailey had this to say, “Greg is a very nice player that can shoot the three and hits the boards hard. We have had some very good players come out of Wayland and that continues with Greg. He should push some of our current players for minutes in his freshman year. Doing well in the classroom translates to smart floor players so he should adapt quickly. Greg will be a great asset to this team and he will help us continue our tradition of Tiger basketball. We welcome Greg and his family to GBC.”
Greg is the son of Ron and LaRaine Salmon and
has a sister Heidi.
