The Tigers finished their Iowa road trip with a loss to William Penn 80-77 as their final three point attempt rimmed out at the buzzer. The Tiger’s free throw woes cost them another game as they hit just 7 of 19 from the line including two front ends of the 1 and 1. Grace led late in the game but an unfortunate series of events didn’t help their cause as they fell to 11-8 on the season. “I think our kids played really well tonight against a great team but it is a hard loss to swallow” said Coach Gary Bailey. “Three very questionable calls in the last two minutes really makes this one difficult. We lost, and that is that, but to watch these kids play so well and then not be able to answer their questions about what happened is tough. We talked about having to overcome obstacles by doing what we can do…like hitting our free throws.”
Allen Durham led Grace with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Ryan Krombeen had a season high 19 points and 8 rebounds. Cory Jamieson handed out his season high of 7 assists.
The Tigers will travel to NCAA II, Ferris State University on Saturday.
