The Annual Blue / Gold Game was played before a nice crowd in the Aldrich Center last night despite the cold and rainy conditions and competing with the televised Detroit Tigers play-off game. The Gold team won the contest 94-79.
Allen Durham led all scorers with 24 points while three teammates scored in double figures. Matt Kurtz hit for 18, Brandon Herlein 15, and Ryan Krombeen 10. Durham and Krombeen each pulled down 8 rebounds. The Blue team was led by Cory Jamieson’s 17 points with Ryan Dame scoring 16, Paul Nelson 15, Dan Dame 13, and Zach Schutte 10. Zach Schutte led the Blue with 9 boards.
Both teams would like to thank the coaches from last night’s game, Kent Karnemaat and Dave Smoes. “The two coaches did a great job last night. All of the kids played a pretty equal amount of minutes and the game was close throughout,” said men’s coach Gary Bailey. “It is always fun to watch the players from a little different perspective and Kent and Dave did a great job with substitutions and game management. I know the players had a great time last night.”
