Coach Kyle Bohl has decided to take a year off from coaching starting this season. Coach Bohl has served as an assistant coach since the 2005-06 season. He has been a part of five regional championships and four national championships in those six seasons. Head Coach Gary Bailey had high praises for Coach Bohl and his time at Grace. “Coach Bohl, Coach George, and I started here at the same time in the 2005 season. Coach Bohl has really worked hard on the defensive end and our teams have been ranked at the top in every defensive category all six years. I am sad to see him step down. I am happy for him that he can take this time to pursue some of the things that are on his “bucket list.” I hope he will be able to return. His position will be here waiting for him.”
When asked what was going to be keeping Coach Bohl busy for the next year, he replied, “If all goes as planned, I will be taking courses toward my second masters degree in education. Along with being married in the last year, I have some new responsibilities that I must tend to including a house to work on and all that comes with that. I will also take this time to continue working hard at the school where I am employed as well as being able to volunteer a little more in the church that Lindsay and I attend. I am extremely appreciative of the time that I have spent with the Grace community. I hope to reassess my commitment level to the team and to the school after this coming year and see how I can contribute again in the future.”
Coach Bohl graduated from GBC and played on the men’s basketball team. He received All-American honors and was selected to the Grace Hall of Fame in 2009.
