American forward Allen Durham (198-F-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Hapoel Afula, receiving a Eurobasket.com National League Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 20 rebounds, while his team edged out Maccabi K/G (#12, 2-6) 94-92. Thanks to this victory Hapoel Afula moved-up to the 4th position in the Israeli National League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Hapoel Afula will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. Durham turned to be Hapoel Afula’s top player in his first season with the team. Former Grace Bible College star has very solid stats this year. Durham is in league’s top in points (5th best: 20.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 13.3rpg) and averages impressive 53.6% FGP. Worth to mention Durham played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
