BACK TO BACK TO BACK !!!!!!!!!

Allen Durham finishes off a steal with the dunk.

The Tigers did it!  The Tigers won their 3rd consecutive national championship and their 4th in six years with a convincing 76-56 win over Valley Forge Christian College.  After last nights OT win, Grace came out clicking on all cylinders and opened up a 13 point halftime lead and increased it to as many as 27 in the second half.  “What a relief,” said Coach Gary Bailey.  “This is a long road and to get to this destination and complete it feels really good.  I was especially happy with our bench play tonight.  All 15 players entered the game and played 4 minutes or more.  It’s nice when they all can say that they contributed in a national championship game.”

Allen Durham led Grace in his last game as a Tiger scoring 26 points and gathering 10 rebounds.  Dauntrell Hill turned in a great game for Grace scoring 10 points.  Ryan Krombeen handed out 6 assists.  The Tigers shot 50.8% from the floor while holding VFC to 35.4%.  “The game plan was to allow them to shoot the three and take away everything else,” said Bailey.  “I was really impressed with our defense and scheme’s this weekend.  We held three very good teams to an average of 58 ppg.  Two of these teams were in the top four or five in the country in scoring.”

With the win, the Tigers also broke the school record for wins in a season with 31.  Grace ends the season at 31-7 while Valley Forge falls to 29-8.
