The Tigers have once again put together a very tough schedule for the upcoming season. The Tigers will play five games in the NAIA, four teams from the NCAA III, one team from the NCAA II, four games from the USCAA II including back to back National Champions Andrews University. The remaining games in the NCCAA II will feature five teams from last year’s NCCAA Elite Eight. The Tigers will also face all three of the teams that joined them in the Final Four.
“Our team is going to be one of the youngest that we have had here in my seven years,” said Coach Gary Bailey. “I wanted to put together a schedule that would test our group but I may have over done it a little. From top to bottom this may be the most difficult schedule we have attempted at Grace. We don’t have anyone on our schedule that I would consider an automatic win. The players are going to have to bring it everyday to practice to prepare for this schedule.”
The Tigers will host it’s first Holiday Tournament in early November. The Tigers will also play 13 home games, the most in any of the last decade. Some highlights of the year will be traveling to Florida to play Hope and Olivet at the Magic practice facility in Orlando. The Tigers will return to Florida in early January to participate in the Florida Christian Tournament in Kissimmee.
TheTigers are coming off a 25-10 season and their fourth consecutive National Championship and fifth in the last eigth year. Grace dropped from the number one spot in the national polls for the first time in almost four years late in the season as they lost an NCCAA game for the first time in four years. The Tigers had their record 69 game NCCAA win streak snapped by Kuyper College.
