The Grace Tigers showed grit and pulled out the hard fought 71-69 victory against a game Flying Dutchman group from Hope College. The Tigers started fast, building a 22 point lead half way through the first half. ” Our big emphasis for this game was to start fast, we really wanted to concentrate on the first five minutes, and our starters really got us off to a great start.” ” I thought Tyler Wright, Brad Rosenzweig, Mike Mokma, Brandon Coe, and Cody Nisonger really came out and showed great focus. They excuted the game plan to perfection.”
The Dutchman made a push in the second half even taking a three point lead with two minutes to go. Three timely defensive stops by the Tigers and a huge offensive rebound on a free throw by Brad Rosenzweig, sealed the game for the Tigers.
” I was really proud of all the guys today, we were dealing with some injuries and foul trouble and people had to play some minutes out of position. Ryan Ehm and Colton Townley both had to step in and play point guard. Brendon Coe and Brad Rosenzweig both stepped in and played center for a few minutes.”
The Tigers are back in action on Thursday at Davenport University at 7:00. Come out and cheer on your Tigers.
