Tigers Cannot Keep Up With Cornerstone JV

18 points 7 rebounds

Grace travelled to Cornerstone last night to take on the Golden Eagles and were turned back 75-56.  The Tigers started slow shaking off a little rust from a long exam week schedule, but got into the game eventually and with 6 minutes to go in the half took and 26-24 lead.  At that point starting point guard Jake Blauwkamp went down with an apparent sprained ankle, and GBC could only muster one more point in the half going in trailing 40-27.  “Losing Jake early certainly didn’t help us in this game, he does so much for us and is probably our best on the ball defender, but we certainly had some people step up after he went down.” said Coach O. after the game.  “I thought Travis Rader played his best defensive game, and having Cameron Meyers play with us today is such a great help to these guys, he knows the system and just plays the right way.”

The Tigers cut the lead to 6 points with 7 minutes to go, but went on a five minute scoring drought as Cornerstone built on the lead.  The Tigers were led in this game by Cameron Cramer who checked in with 18 points and 7 rebounds, he was followed in the scoring column by Travis Rader with 13 and Caleb Cook with 12 points.  The Tigers are off until after the New Year when they play at Ohio Christian on January 3rd.  The next home game will be against Davenport JV on January 12th at 7:00, come out and cheer on your Tigers.
