Senior Allen Durham scored 30 points and pulled down 7 rebounds to lead the Blue Team to a 93-84 victory over the Gold Team. The 6th annual Blue/Gold game was a close game throughout with both teams performing well. Cory Jamieson scored 12 and Dan Dame 11 points and Carl Getty hauled in 7 rebounds for the Blue squad. Jamieson led the Blue with 5 assists. Brad Rosenzweig led the JV players with 6 points. Trent Karnemaat and Marquis Johnson had 2 assists each. The Blue team was coached by Al Stout, a Banker, out of Lansing, MI. Al is a longtime friend of Coach Bailey and has worked the last two seasons with the team on free throws and mechanics. Al retired from officiating a few years ago and still stays active in sports training.
Newcomer John Oostema led the White with 18 points and was joined in double digit scoring by Matt Kurtz with 17, Ryan Krombeen and Ryan Dame with 13 points. Dame pulled down 7 rebounds and also had a game high 6 assists. Mike Mokma led the JV scorers with 5 and Mike Svoboda pulled down 4 rebounds. The White team was coached by GBC Alum Dave Meier. Dave owns and is CFO of a business in Wisconsin. Dave is currently ranked #14 all time in scoring at Grace with over 1,000 points and is ranked #3 in rebounding with 893 boards. Dave will be inducted into the GBC Hall of Fame later this month.
